Christopher E. Hendricks, PhDProfessor of History
This section of our site was created in alignment with the Georgia Department of Education's Standards of Excellence for 8th Grade Social Studies. In this curriculum, students focus on Georgia History, beginning with the founding of the Georgia colony in Savannah. To enrich this exploration, we highlight some of the notable faith groups that played a role in the colony's early history, particularly where they interacted with one another.
To help present this material effectively, the project team collaborated with Dr. Christopher Hendricks, a history professor at Georgia Southern University. Dr. Hendricks, who earned his PhD from The College of William and Mary in 1991, specializes in colonial and public history.
Dr. Hendricks' extensive insight and skillful presentation bring valuable context, enabling students to gain a deeper understanding of the connections between key events and figures in Savannah's history. The project team sincerely thanks Dr. Hendricks for his invaluable contributions to this endeavor.
